Replace battery Inspiron 1750

I have got a problem with my Inspiron 1750's battery, it 'died' few months ago and needs a replacement.

It is a 6-cell battery and my question is if it can be replaced by a 9-cell battery because I want to last longer without charging it again and again.

I have searched information from the net and read that if I use a 9 cell, it will sitck out, but I do not know if it will suit 'perfectly' on my laptop.
