Replacement Keyboard for Laptop?

I have a dell inspiron 6000 which is a little over a year old and has a 3 year warranty. I expect that in a few years the keyboard will be less soft than it is now and when it was first purchased. If I call dell to get a new keyboard, will they send me a used one or new one? Also, would they ask me to mail my whole laptop in or will they send me the keyboard to replace by myself? Thanks.

I don't know how much "less soft" it can get - the keys on the newer notebooks from most manufacturers are pretty mushy - but yes, they will send you a replacement. It will say "refurbished" but will almost certainly be new or never-used. If recent experience is a guide, they will send you the keyboard and not even request the old one be sent back.
