Restore and start up help!

I was updating my laptops files, and when I was ready to turn it off, it said, "configuring..do not turn your computer off" well I turned it off anyways, and now it is saying "fatal error C0000034 applying update operation 288 or 119438" and when I try to run normal startup or startup repair, it won't let me. I can't even get to the restore page, I'll do anything to fix it, even setting it back to it's factory settings. If ANYBODY can help, I would greatly appreciate it.

Try re-installing the operating system with the disk.

The trip for Vista or 7 is F8, not CTRL-F11.

Trying. Thank you.

I tried pressing F8, and it goes back to the screen I mentioned earlier that says Start Up Repair (Recommended) and Start Windows Normally.

You can try getting to Safe Mode -- F8 before Windows loads - but if that fails, you're in for a manual reload.

I don't have an operating system disk. I only have one for Devices and Utilities and for Applications. And I've tried Ctrl + F11 but it doesn't work either. It goes to a screen that says Start Up Repair (Recommended) and Start Windows Normally, I've tried both and neither work.

I'm just going to have to pay somebody to fix it or get a new one. Because even for manual reloading, I need an OS disk which I don't have.
