Restore system using Recovery Partition
Hello!
I need to use the "BIOS RECOVERY IMAGE FACTORY TOOL" that uses the RECOVERY IMAGE PARTITION.
But this option has gone, it's not anymore showed in Bios Setup. And I think i know why:
My Vostro came with the following partitions:

DellUtility - 78 MB
RECOVERY - 7.93 GB
OS - 140 GB
.
I divided the last partition so i could install the Linux:

DellUtility - 78 MB
RECOVERY - 7.93 GB
OS - 121 GB
LINUX - 19GB
.
And i also installed "LILO BOOT MANAGER" that wrote a new MBR.
Now the option to restore the Factory Image isn't showed anymore in BIOS Setup.
How can i enable this option again or restore manually using Recovery image partition? I need to restore my Windows using this Recovery Partition. If necessary i can delete my Linuux Partition.

The dell recovery partition does not allow you to change the partition at all.
If the mbr is changed in any way or the partiton structure you can no longer repair.
Dan Goodell has a program called DSRFIX that repairs the partition. but only if its got the 3 partitions the way it originally came. DSRFIX is ONLY for CTRL F11 restore and has NOTHING to do with F8 windows Vista WIM restore.
