Running the e1705 without a battery...

I am very confused....I am new at laptops and i would really like advice from people. I am primarily using my laptop for around the house and always have acess to an outlet. I don't know weather or not it is good to always have the laptop plugged in, if i should run it without the battery, or use battery power every once in a while so I can "excersise" the battery. I would really appreciate the advice of someone who knows about laptop batteries. Thank you.
