safety instructions lead warning
The Product Information Guide for Dell Portable Computers(September 2004) says on p. 26:
WARNING: Handling the cord on this product, or cords asociated with accessories sold with this product, WILL (emphasis mine) expose you to lead, a chemical known to the State of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm. WASH YOUR HANDS AFTER HANDLING THE CORD> (emphasis theirs!)
What is up with this?????!!!!!! Tech support knows nothing, read me a product description that mentioned aluminum shield and copper contacts, no LEAD. Is this a danger to my home? How much lead? This computer will be plugged in all over my house, in restaurants, etc. What about swapping cords for no-lead ones? Can someone enlighten me? The tech support said, if the book says it, it must be true. How serious is this lead contamination warning????

This sounds like a joke - if you handle the cable, you will be touching 'a lead', not 'lead'.
Someone must have done a search for all dangerous words, and produced a COSHH assessment for each word.
To make a mistake that stupid, they were probably suffering from brain damage - possibly caused by lead poisoning?
