Screen brightness on battery

The screen on my Inspiron 6000 is unacceptably dim when I run on battery. I know this is a battery saving feature but is there a setting that I can access to improve the brightness when I'm running on battery?

Well of course you can just use the keyboard short cuts to up the brightness while on battery or you can go into the bios and change the settings there for brightness under battery power or ac adapter.
