Screen Flickering on Alienware 17
I got an Alienware 17 about 2 months ago and I noticed my screen starting to flicker almost right when I got it. It wasn't that bad at first it was just a little flicker every now and then so it wasn't a big deal but it's starting to become a big problem. Sometimes my whole screen just goes white. The flickering occurs when I type if the laptop is moved at all and so on. Right now I have my laptop connected to my tv and the tv has no flickering issue's but my laptop screen is flickering a bit here and there.
Is there anyway I can fix this problem myself? I believe the problem is a loose LCD cable or something but I'm not sure. Any help would be appreciated.

I have also have this problem. I requested support on this back in January/February however it seemed to not be such a problem anymore. A month or so after not using my laptop I've noticed it's started doing it again, however this time it's even worse. Sometimes the screen is just black. The backlight is on, but there is no graphics, colour or otherwise. At it's worst I don't see the bios, or anything at all yet I hear windows launch and I can logon, so the laptop is fully functioning behind this fault. I have just checked my warranty and it's recently dropped out of warranty. What is the actual problem? I see A LOT of people have had this, yet I haven't seen an explanation as to what it is and for people to organise sending their laptops back.

I have the exact problem. It has just got out warranty, but I bought extended warranty.
So I snet my one for repair. The guy checked it for two days and gave me the conclusion it was the data cable between the display and the video card, so he ordered a new one, and replaced it. What's funny is, one day after I got my computer back, the screen started flickering again.
Now I don't think it is the data cord at fault, and I am not sure if it is the screen either, because every time when my display flickers, a restart fixes it for me. If I connect a second monitor to it, the laptop works fine, so it is not th video card, I am completely at loss as to what's wrong with it. I am going to send it back for repair again, be interesting to see what gets replaced this time, unfortunately though, there will probably no gaming time for me this Christmas.
