Screen Not Displaying after POST Test

Hi Everyone,

I have a Dell studio XPS 1645. Now the problem is that my display screen is not displaying any thing at all after it passes it's POST test. This problem started when I was installing new OS and its drivers and utilities.

After installation of new win 7 OS the screen was displaying (visible). But when I was installing it's utility the screen just freeze when it was in the process of installing the Phoenix package, after couple of hours I switched it off and from there it never display any thing when it passes its POST test.

Please tell me how to go about it and solve this problem. I really need your advice to make my laptop back to its running condition.

I would really appreciate your help.

Hi RSHL,

I am sorry for the inconvenience, please connect a known good monitor to the laptop and check if the external monitor works?  Also Try running the hardware diagnostics by tapping the F12 key on a few times during startup until you see the ‘One Time Boot Menu’ appear.

At the one time boot menu, press the down arrow key to highlight ‘Diagnostics’, and then press Enter to begin the hardware diagnostics.

If the test fails, please make a note of any error codes listed. You can also refer to the link below.
