Shuts completely off but charged?

I have a Dell Inspiron 5160 which I purchased a little over a year ago.

It's been working fine these past few days, then suddenly, today after I charged the battery, I unplugged the charger so I could take it to my desk and do some work. However, when I unplugged it, the laptop completely shut off. The battery is not low as I checked and it says 100% charged. I also cannot turn the laptop back on unless it is plugged in.

I'm not sure if a setting was changed and that's the problem, or if it's something more serious.

Can anyone help? Thanks.

Welcome to the nightmare of 5160 motherboard problems. I have the same piece of junk as you do and unfortunately I am now on my 3rd motherboard because of the exact same issues you are describing. If you are out of warranty, get out the credit card.

Thanks for the reply. 5160 is just a terrible model. I've had over 15 problems with it, including the same problem, 7 times. First problem happened only 2 months after I purchased it. Made me recommend Sony instead of Dell to a friend of mine.
