Slack in the LCD Hinges
Hi All, I have a Vostro 1500 that I've been using for the past year. The LCD hinges have some play in them. What I mean is that when I open the laptop, friction in the hinges holds the screen open, but there is ~5 degrees of play in that position. I've never had this problem with a laptop screen before, so I'm not sure what to do. Thanks in advance for the assistance.

Check the screws for the LCD hinge, they might've gotten loose.
Otherwise, it could be that the hinges have died. About how many times to you open it a day? I've seen laptop hinges die within a couple months due to excessive closing and opening (like 20+ times a day).
