Software needed for Latitude D610
This past weekend at a computer show I purchased a used Dell Latitude D610 running Windows XP Pro. I went to the drivers page and updated all that it said I needed but I am missing a couple of items I want and need.
1. Touchpad, trackball software. Not in start > all programs > dell or in the taskbar as on my other Latitude Laptop.
2. Sound level display. When I hit up or down the little pop up window is not there showing the volume status or muted simble.
I tried to install the QuickSet from my Latitude D800 but it said it was not compatible, and I can't find either of these programs/drivers in the download area. Where can I find these programs? There were no CD's that came with this used laptop.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

There are 74 total XP drivers listed for your system:
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=555&l=en&s=biz&ServiceTag=&SystemID=LAT_PNT_PM_D610&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=
The first two you MUST install -before any others - are the Dell notebook system software and the chipset driver.
Since you're not seeing the quickset utility install, I'll bet at least the former is missing.

I had already been there. For my Service Tag there are only 9 downloads available for me. None of them solve this problem. I installed them all yesterday to be sure I had the most up to date drivers and software for this laptop.
I still need have the two problems I originally mentioned and still cannot find a download to fix them.

Thanks ejn63, using the service tag only gave me 9 items. When I used Latitude - D610 - Windows XP I found the 74 you mentioned. The software was found and installed and now both problems hasve been solved. All the drivers should now be up to date.
Thanks again.
