sound problem after installing windows 8.1
hi there, i have dell vostro 1400 and i installed windows 8.1 few days ago and since then the sound not working in my machine !!! tried to uninstall the audio driver and installed it again , nothing.. updated the audio driver ... nothing as well , even i uninstalled the windows and installed it again , but no sound comes out of it , any help plz as i am depressed and dont know what to do ?

Hi nashnash15,
I checked the system specification and the Vostro 1400 supports are Windows XP and Windows Vista 32 Bit operating system. However this system has not been tested with Windows 8.1 and would usually rely on generic drivers from windows updates.
If in case that does not work you may have to revert back to the older Operating system.

You may install Windows 7 32 - bit on this computer. However, I believe you might have issues with compatible drivers for some components and you would need to rely on Windows updates or generic drivers for those components.
