SoundBlaster X-Fi MB application software

Hello,

I am using XPS 15 L502X laptop. This came preloaded with Soundblaster x-fi MB application which I was using since last two years without any problem. But then I had to reinstall windows 7 on my laptop and now the Driver for Soundblaster x-fi MB is unable to detect supported hardware on my system. I tried to install different versions of the soundblaster (even tried the drivers downloaded from Creative's website). But all exit with the same error message "Unable to detect supported hardware". Can anybody help me out on this?

Thank you

Hello Sourav. I see that you posted elsewhere on the forum but your post got moved back here to the Laptop Audio Board. I don't know where you posted it. Is this the one I advised you to post on the Customer Care board?

Listen, as far as I can tell your problem is that you don't have the Soundblaster X Fi-MB program. You need to get someone at Dell to help you get the program back.

Don't go into all that stuff about drivers and error messages. That makes it sound like you have an audio issue. Understand that a missing program is not an audio issue so don't give people the idea that is what you need help with.

Tell them that you bought the Soundblaster X Fi-MB program and that you have the invoice to prove it.

Tell them that you do not have installation discs because the program was installed at the factory.

Tell them that you performed a "system recovery"  (don't say you "reinstalled windows 7" if you performed a system recovery -- and you told me in the other thread that you did perform a system recovery.)

Tell them that even though you performed a system recovery the Soundblaster X Fi-MB program was not recovered.

Tell them that you have searched both Dell Digital Delivery and My Dell Downloads but that the program is in neither location.

Tell them that you "raised this concern with the Dell support team as well" but that they could not help.

Tell them that you posted on the Laptop Audio board and that you were told to post on the Customer Care board to get help with finding the missing program.

Tell them that because Dell did not supply the program on a disk, and Dell did not include it on the recovery image, and Dell did not put it in your Dell Downloads or Delivery lockers, and that Dell support does not know what to do, ask them if someone at Dell will please look into this matter for you and find out exactly how Dell intends for you to install the software that they sold you.

But don't tell them that you have an audio problem or else they will just bounce you back here again.

Posted in the Customer Care Board again according to your suggestions.

Thanks Chris,

The 117 MB rar file did the trick. I've got the SoundBlaster X-Fi MB program back.

Thanks again. :)

Hi Sourav. Looks like Chris M was able to help out. I'm glad it is working again for you. But it is bad that apparently Dell is selling this program with no official way to re-install it.
