Store battery fully charged or empty?

Hello, I received two batteries with my new 6000 (it was only $29 more), the smaller (6-cell i think) and the larger 8-cell.  Most of the time I use my laptop plugged in, which I've heard is bad for the battery.  I keep my smaller one in the laptop because if one is to go bad first, let it be that one.

My question is should I store the larger 8-cell battery (for longer periods of time) fully charged or empty and charge it when I need it?  There won't be any emergencies where I need the 8-cell immediately so there will always be time to charge it when needed.

Thanks for your input!

Always store a battery fully charged. It is not a good idea to go for more than a couple of weeks without recharging your battery. If the battery becomes overly discharged ,it could damage the battery. The battery discharges by itself. "Stand loss" is a term used to describe the "amount of charge" a fully charged battery will lose per day when the battery is left in an unplugged but powered off computer or when the battery is charged and then removed from the computer and allowed to discharge on it's own.
