Stream output from speaker to mic

Hi, I wanted to know if there is a way to stream all the output from the speaker directly to the mic. Do you guys know of a way to reroute the speakers? Dell Latitude D620 Windows XP SigmaTel Audio Thanks.

Could you explain what you are trying to do? It seems like you want to convert the mic/input jack into an output jack.

Well, my friend and I like to talk to each other through our IM clients. I have an internal mic on my laptop, and it's not too bad though sometimes my friend says it's kinda of hard to hear. Anyway, there are a lot of times where I want to play music or just some sounds from my computer for him to hear, but he always says the quality is too bad and too quiet. So what I wanted to know if there is a way to channel the sound coming from my speakers directly to the mic by rerouting the output to the mic's input. I know people have been able to do the opposite: direct the mic's input into the speakers so that they can hear themselves.

Thanks, now I follow you.

I have never come across a way to literally route the sound card's output to the microphone, and if one could it would probably just create a feedback loop.

I'm not sure but I think using stereo mix (on other computers it is called wave-out or whatuhear) would possibly be what you need. If you don't have the latest driver (Sigmatel R171789 v.5.10.0.5515) you need to install it if you would like to have the stereo mix function.

I don't know the cause for this. If the mic is live while the music is playing, perhaps the mic is picking up or creating sounds that are drowning out the music.

If this isn't the problem then perhaps you should report it to tech support and see if they have a fix for it.

Thanks, using Stereo mixer kind of worked. The quality is excellent at times, but most of the time you can hear every other word with a lot of static in between. Sometimes it's just all static. Why is this? Any way to bring up the quality?
