STService.exe system error
After the last Dell system update on my Studio XPS laptop, I receive "The program can't start because STString.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem'" What program is STService and where do I find it to reinstall?

Could you extract just the \STService.exe file and send it to me ? It is the 3rd one from the bottom of the list. This is the one I believe I neede to fix the error message. Thank you.

F_R_W,
Thank you for your suggestion. It worked for me. I had used the trial version of AVG PC Checkup just last night, then today when I returned to my laptop and powered it up, I got the STString.dll error message, so I tried what you suggested and it worked. Thanks again!

When you used the registry cleaner, did you have the program create a backup file before applying any fixes? If you did, just undo the changes using the backup files.
Everyone needs to be careful using a registry cleaner. Some do not go very deep in its cleaning and really won't harm the system. Some go very deep and if you do not know what is being deleted, it can cause serious OS issues.

"If your problem is associated with the AVG PC Checkup, you can restore the files by following the below:
Click Start > All Programs > AVG PC Tuneup 2011 > AVG Rescue Centre
Select "Backups" from the left menu
Restore all backups from list.
Following this restored my files and now my laptop works again!
Maybe this will help."
