Studio 15 (1555) keyboard function keys

I forgot to mention I use Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

I have installed quickset for my studio 1555 model (DELL_QUICKSET_A00_R226931) and it only added the radio control. I searched for an updated quickset and took the one of studio 1569 (DELL_QUICKSET_A04_R265149) which added me the option of touchpad.

Does anyone know how to add the keyboard option to the Windows mobility center?
Does anyone know how to report DELL about this bug of function keys being reverted to multimedia keys?
Does anyone know about a shortcut key that switch between the function/multimedia keys?

That's right, no option in the mobilty centre.

But here is what worked for my 1555:

• Shut down your laptop (not slumber/hibernate)
• Hold down the F2 key while turning on your laptop (do NOT pres key while pressing F2, since this will start a laptop check that takes 45 minutes and will NOT get you into the BIOS)
• In the BIOS screen choose Advanced
• Change the Function keys pre-set to the option you want by pressing the bar (you don't have a numeric keypad, so no +/- key)
• Leave the BIOS screen while saving your changed configuration

Of course: be careful when you change the BIOS-setting, so leave the other options alone and don't save your changes unless you are absolutely sure that nothing else is changed.

Hey,

I have more complicated request about function keys. I agree that F from 1 to 6 should work as Function as default and special with Fn key. But I think that Function keys from 7 to 12 (volume and multimedia control) could work with Special as default and Function with Fn. 

Is there a way to achieve that?

really need some help with the following, would really appreciate the assistance:

my (") and (@) are swopped around, when pressing shift+2 i get (") and when i press shift+' i get (@) and it should be the other way around as per the prints on the keys

It might be something simple but it is really getting to me

I think you need to change the display language:

How to change the Windows 7 Display Language: 

1. Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Clock, Language, and Region / Change the display language
2. Switch the display language in the Choose a display language dropdown menu.
3. Click OK
4. Log off for the changes to take effect (This will affect only the user profile under which you are currently logged on).

by going on Windows Mobility Center you can change Functon Key Row to function key. That's it ! no need to go in BIOS settings and all.
