Studio Laptop 1749 and bluetooth

Usually the system will ship with the Bluetooth card. have you checked to see if there is 1 present.

If not,. the system will use the Dell 365 2.1 Bluetooth Adapter.  To fit the card, look at the following service manual:

I don't think bluetooth is installed on my Dell, if i go into systems info/manager there is no reference too it.

I have just had a look on the dell web site and the bluetooth adapter that is being recomended is the 370 2.4Ghz

Is that one OK or does it have to be the 365 2.1Ghz

Check in device manager and see if there's anything for it also.

That will be a new updated card on the sales site, so that would be perfect also.

Could you offer any answers to  the content of the email below, which was written by my Son for me, to the Dell support team.

Dear Dell support

My father  recently purchased a WPAN Wireless 370 Bluetooth Mini-card for my Dell Stuido 1749 laptop  from your telephone sales line.

After checking the Dell Service manual the bluetooth card replacement section discusses replacing the internal bluetooth card. However this does not appear to be the same part as the Anatel branded WPAN card that you have sent me.

It appears that the WPAN card would fit into the empty WWAN slot in the laptop, however the service manual does not discuss if this is supported.

The Dell website for the WPAN card states that it is compatible with the Studio 1749 : .

Can you advise whether this is the case and if so where the card would install as there is not a specific WPAN labelled slot. Or alternatively whether I need to purchase the bluetooth card which according to the service manual installs on top of the main board rather than underneath. (I've included the extract from the service manual below which shows the internal bluetooth card - this is not the same as the WPAN 370)
