SVHS/RCA background scanning lines on 7 different TV

Hi all, while I go at friends/family homes bringing my i8200 to watch my new DivX/DvD on their Tv, I always have the same problem. Somes king of 1 inch large scanning lines appear at a constant rate of 4 secondes in the background of the desktop/movie/Tv content. I tryed a lot of things to corect this: I changed the reference drivers from 28.35 to a moded 29.?? to another 41.09 to 41.?? now to 43.30. I changed of cable (Rcs coaxial and Hi quality 6 feet Svhs (25$can one), I changed the resolution from 1024 to 800 on the TV. I used the tv as my primary monitor, completely ignoring the LCD.

Finally I got the chance to test my Tv OUT on a lot of different TV set moving from friend to familly to other friends tv So I testes on 1 Sony Trinitron 21 inch, 1 Sony Wega 27 inch (first revision side speaker) 32 inch JVC 4 month set, 19 inch Panasonic 1 year, Another Sony 32 inch Trinitron KVS serie, a cheap Sears 21 inch (jvc clone) and Finally my desktop's Vivo GeFroce 3 ti200 MSI board as i don't have a Tv set. The problem is always the same.

Somebody told me to try a TvOut tweaking apps called Tvtool. I tryed the shareware to find it only suport Conexan, Philips and Crontel encoder and not the build in nv17 one...

So I find myself crearing this thread to get more experiment infos and hints on tweaking my TV out.

I'm also thinking to sell this nv17 440 Go 64megs on ebay and purchashe an Ati 9000 (If drivers continue to A0x++). This is for upgrader peoples. did you saw any improvement between an nVidia nv17 and an Ati 9000 Board in the TvOut quality ? I always thiked Ati was better with the multimedia/VIVO/Tv out than nvidia was back in the days of my Ati xPert 2000 Tvout !

Your comment/help/infos please !

There are some advanced options in the nview tab that I've played with on my GF4MX card on one of my desktops that can slightly adjust some things to remove visual anomalies. That might help.

Hi, I tryed to change a few settings but none helped and none are directly related to the Tv OUT output :-(

I'm looking for an apps, freeware or not to ajust more properly my Tv OUT settings. Or as I know the Tv chip for the NV17 is self integrated into the Main GPU without any white paper released from nVidia DOH, some Registry tweaks !

I recently have done a great move, I changed my drivers from somes modded from D-Force 41.09 to another I can't remember. I took the A18 Dell Worstation 43.30 and changed the name for the second NV17 line in the inf file once decompressed. I replaced the Quadro 550 or something like that with Dell Mobile GeForce 4 440 Go...... and once saved I manually installed that driver. I finally got all the previous Tv out options, with my LCD been properly detected as 1600x1200 and everything else working (Powermizer, twinview and plenty of other things). Sure the drivers are not tweaked at their max potentiel but they are more stable than the other I had (Frank drivers, D-Force and 2 other) I also properly washed all previous nvidia files before reinstalling 43.30.

But my tv out problem is still the same that before :-( That prove it's not a driver problem !

I'm still trying to find a mirale fix before selling that non drivers suported 440 Go on ebay and getting an Ati 9000 pro from the spare parts !

To the interested: A Dell A02 GeForce 4 440 Go 64 megs for sale at a great price just here ! Cause: TvOut make me crazy !!!!

Look in nView, and find the device adjustment section for the TV. You should be able to adjust the "flicker filter". Play with that and see if it helps.

Hi, I'm non able to reach TvOUT options in nView without been on a TV but I will try in a short period of time be sure ! May It change options depending of what release of the driver I have ? i'm sure that yes... Maybe I don't have that settings with the 43.30 A18 for Dell Workstation I modded (not really modded, simply changed name of the second NV17 description in the inf and installed that name manually and forced).

DCan you change that setting with your 43.45 modded driver ? if yes can you give me it's source ?

Thanks anyway, I will surely finally be able to save the Ati 9000 money for a new HD or new mods !

I don't think it would be in a different spot. AFAIK, the option location has been the same since around 41.09 or earlier (41.09 was the first modded driver I used) but the option itself didn't come about until something like 42.00. In the nView menu start clone or extended mode and right click the second display. There should be a "screen adjustment" or "device adjustment" or something like that. But I know it hasn't changed since 42.86.

Hi, it make quite a long time since I not answered this thread, but my problem is still there ARGH ! this summer, Iw atched ALOT of things fom my laptop to a wide variety of TV and since I got Dell A03 42.?? NV17 drivers, the problem was still here. I tryed not using the dongle (in svideo mode) but that didn't helped... When I will send my laptop to dell for replacing the LCD, and fans, will probably told them to replace my NV17 card too. If that didn'T help, it will be the mainboard as the video out is soldered to the mainboard... or maybe it's the power board that is on the mainboard, that create intererences... ARGH !

If somebody got a similar problem or get rid of soemthing like that, I would like to hear of you !

i forgot to tell you, I tryed the flicker adjust (was available only when a tv out device was conencted (tv, vcr, receiver). it was middle by default, adjusting it to left helped a little bit, but in all adjustement the flickers stay here. Tomorrow I'l try to unplug the ac adaptor to see if it's not a "video ground loops" problem.
