Swapping Hard Drives and Using Hardware Profiles?

I have a 80GB hard drive from A 2-year old 600m I want to swap into a new 600m I just got. The hardware in the new one is different than the old one and Windows does not start up when I put the old drive in the new laptop. Do I need to set up a new hardware profile on the old drive to match the new laptop hardware?

If how, how should I go about setting this up?
