T9600 CPU and high usage rate?
I have dell studio 15, and my processor is T9600 dual core. I heard that this processor is very good, and im noticing that even only little bit amount of work on this laptop gives more cpu usage than i thought it would have. I also have a desktop PC, and that one does not have that high CPU usage even with lower level CPU processor.
by what i know, high cpu usage isnt a good thing (just by browsing on firefox, the usage stays around 20%)
im currently using Vista 64bit for the OS, and 6gigs of ram (i have noticed that ram usage is also high)
so is that normal for t9600's to have CPU usages like that? or im i having some problems?

If you have five or six programs loaded, your CPU usage should be no higher than 10%. If you do, look for programs such as anti-virus that may be eating resources. Go to the Task Manager and click the Process Tab. Click on the CPU column heading to sort by CPU usage. The top or bottom item (System Idle Process) will be the amount of CPU time that is free. This should be 90% or higher with programs loaded but not doing anything. Any process using much CPY time should be suspect.
