Thermal Paste and Warranty Issues
Hello,
Are any of the following going to void my warranty?
1. Applying Thermal Paste to CPU and GPU
2. Using a different harddrive than the one that came with the unit.
Thank you!

but #2 is fine.
The drive you remove will still be warranted by the system warranty and the one you install will be warranted by the manufacturer of the drive.

You can upgrade the RAM, hard drive, and optical drive, without voiding the warranty, because replacing those is a simple matter of undoing a few screws on the respective bays/bay covers.
But doing anything which involves taking the laptop apart to get at/work on the interior - which you'd have to do to apply fresh thermal paste to the CPU/GPU, voids the warranty ;)
