Thermal paste not applied when replacing heatsink
I have an Inspiron 1464, with an Intel i3 M330 CPU that heats up to 89 degrees celsius when its being used at 90 - 100%. This easily happens when I watch flash video or while playing games.
After complaining to DELL about the problem, they agreed to replace the heatsink and fan. But what I noticed was that the technician did not apply thermal paste after before installing the new heatsink. When I asked him about it, he simply said it was not required anymore.
How is the CPU going to get cooled now if the junction between the heatsink and it cannot conduct heat effectively?

it's not required but it is highly suggested. since after you shut down your computer the thermal paste will cool the computer down aftrer the fan has stoped spining and i suggest appling some on the cpu 89c is very hot its about 190 f im suprised your motherboard hasnt turned off the computer at this temputure my labtop runs about 150 at the highist about 140-145 normaly sometimes even lower

What are the temperatures after the fix?
He may have used a thermal heat transfer pad. Some CPU/GPUs use paste, some a pad.
