TouchPad and/or keyboard

I do not know if I am in the correct place here....I rarely if ever do the community thing; but I am totally frustrated at this point.

When I type (Studio 1555 32 bit-Windows 7) I can be typing and all of a sudden i look at the screen and it is typing somewhere else. I thought I was touching the touchpad....but not so. I also can not get the touch pad software to install to turn it off is there is a mouse attached.

I called Dell support and they could not solve the problem. So I decided to reinstall windows 7....... well that is not a easy solution....because it tells me I can not do so because I am using a diffrent language......this frustrates me even more. Do anyone have a solution? Suggestion? Assistance?  <ADMIN NOTE: Email id removed per privacy policy>
