TV Tuner

I have an Inspiron 6000 with the remote and Media Center XP and now I am interested in purchasing the tv tuner:

Is this external?
What is the make/model that Dell sells in case I choose to buy from elsewhere?
How does the Dell one rank?
How would I go about watching TV on my notebook?

I purchased a Dell TV tuner with my Inspiration 6000. It is an external unit but the TV tuner card is internal. The digital computer manual says you must set it up using the tuner wizard but no documentation was provided with the unit to say how this is done, and no further guidance is provided in the digital computer manual. Can anybody advise how to start the wizard setup for the TV tuner???.

I plead ignorance. In my case, the card, if there physically is such a separate thing, was installed in my new unit at the factory. The Dell hardware support 800 line tells me it is in fact in the computer because it is listed on the invoice. Small consolation as I'm at a loss to know how to set it up, short of paying the software support line $99 to find out of course.

So how do you put the card inside?

The tv tuner is not internal, as there is no port to plug the cable into. TV tuners have at minimum a connection for cable wire and usually line in, remote in, and other inputs.

So if you are wondering where your tv tuner is, it is a external usb tuner.

Do they sell a PCMCIA tuner? I have seen them from other manufacturers.
