U2412M driver?

Okay. So it is now October 2013 and it appears that the Dell website has not been updated with the relevant files to enable the drivers etc. to be downloaded in order to enable install. (My CD drive died a while ago so that can not be used for install.)

Generic PnP Monitor is currently coming up. I have made repeated attempts to download and install relevant files. Using the Dell Monitor Driver Installer.exe is no use. After it is run and it searches the PC I get

"The following connected monitors have been detected:
        AUO Plug and Play Monitor - AUO10ED
        Def Plug and Play Monitor - Default_Monitor

Drivers for the following monitors have been found:
        Dell U2412M(Analog) - DELA079
        Dell U2412M(Digital) - DELA07A
        Dell U2412M(DisplayPort) - DELA07B

Drivers for the following connected monitor can be installed:
        None

Please connect your monitor before running this program."

How can this be resolved?

Thanks

MarkSid,

* Go here:
http://pages.suddenlink.net/downloaddell/U2412M.inf
* Click Save- Desktop- Save
* Open the Device Manager
* Click the icon left of Monitors
* Double click the generic monitor listed
* Click the Driver tab
* Click the Update Driver button
* Click No, not at this time
* Click Next
* Dot Install from a list or specific location
* Click Next
* Click Don't search. I will choose the driver to install
* Click Next
* Click Have Disk
* Click Browse and navigate to where the inf file is on your desktop
* Click the monitor inf file
* Click Open
* Click OK
* Click Next
* Click Finish
* Now the Device Manager- Monitors should show your generic monitor as the U2412M

Now that the drivers have loaded I find that I am unable to set the resolution to an appropriate level. My laptop nornally supports 1920 x 1080 using the spec below however currently, with the U2412M plugged in as dual screen, 1024 x 728 is the maximum resolution that can be displayed.

Dell Studio 1557

ATI Mobility Radeon HD4570

Win7 64 bit

Please confirm how this may be addressed.

Thanks

I just tried running the protocol suggested in your post. It did not work.

I tried again by making sure that the drivers were on the desktop. This time the problem was resolved. (The Dell drivers when downloaded do not store on the desktop unless specified.)
