Unable to install driver!
I have a Dell Vostro 1320 laptop. Due to hard drive failure, I had to install a new hard drive, and therefore, reinstall the Vista operating system.
I only have the Vista reinstallation CD but no longer have the driver CD, so went on to Dell's driver download page to download the drivers needed for my laptop to run properly.
But the problem is I am unable to install the drivers. (Yes, I am aware drivers need to be installed in particular orders. The first one being the system utility.)
An error message pops up:
"This Microsoft Windows operating system service pack is not supported. Please update to the latest Microsoft Windows service pack."
I don't understand it! What did I do wrong??
I cannot get connected to the internet via wireless, since driver is missing.... I can't even get connected to the internet via ethernet cable, because I am supposed to install a driver that will enable cable internet connection. So how am i supposed to "update" service pack??
Please help.

How did you post on this forum ? Use the computer you used to get on here to goto microsofts update sight and hopefully download the service packs for windows vista to a memory stick and then transfer them to the other machine.

Thanks for the advice, will give it a try.
Sorry about the confusion. I had to use another computer to download the drivers, saved them to a memory stick and transfer to this Dell Vostro trying to install.
