up todate drivers
I just finished reformatting my wife's laptop and installing Windows 7. The laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1420. I would like to download the latest drivers for the computer but noticed the ones on the Dell Website are from 2007. Anyone know how or where to go to get the latest drivers? I would like a video, sound and network driver. Greatly appreciate any free links. Dell won't do any online chat for me because my warranty is over. :emotion-6:

Whichever drivers for Windows 7 you see is what you get.

Where do I go on the dell site to download Windows 7 drivers for my inspiron 1420 laptop? Do you have a direct link?

Win 7 will load all the needed drivers when it is installed. They may not be the most comprehensive, but they will work. As stated above, the chipset driver from Dell will work fine, as it is not OS dependent. If you want better drivers you will need to visit each manufacturer's web site and get the ones you need. If you have an Nvidia graphics processor, do get the latest driver directly from Nvidia. They are updated several times a month (it seems that way anyway).
