Update video drivers (6990M)

I would like to know if the video drivers for the HD6990M are ever going to be updated. The last version available on dell's website for my mx17 (8.8.51.2, A00)  dates back to 7/29/2011. How am I supposed to play games that came out recently to their fullest when my drivers are almost 2 years old. And I know dell users can't even download the drivers available on ATI's website due to some compatibility problem and are forced to use dell's.

I find it unprofessional that a big and *respectable* company such as Dell is not able to provide quality services and updates to their long term customers. You have to keep your drivers pages updated and that for all video cards you ever sold (new or old) or you're basically screwing your customers in buying incomplete or malfunctioning products.
