USB Buslink and Ghost 2003
Got a USB Buslink external hard drive with the intention of using it with my Inspiron 8200 to make a Norton Ghost 2003 backup image. I am unable to get the system to "see" the drive in either PC-DOS or MS-DOS. What I did was make a ghost bootable floppy with the proper drivers for my usb keyboard and mouse (I use a docking station). I then manually added the proper driver and the commands in the config.sys to recognise the external hard drive. This has gotten me nowhere. Any thoughts

i've had troubles with the boot floppies. Try running it from windows with all of the correct options enabled and let it reboot into DOS and see if that works.
You could also undock and use the built in keyboard and see if you can get it to work that way. I don't know if the dockstation ports are emulated in DOS or if they need a Windows driver to work.
Lastly, I don't know if you can use both a USB keyboard and a USB HDD together (do the drivers conflict with each other?)
At least you aren't trying to get it to recognize a media bay drive from a boot floppy (since the floppy and drive occupy the same slot and only one can be installed at a time)

No Floppy Drive
2 CD Drive, 1 CDR, 1 CDRW
USB Connections-Dell printer/DLink USB Wireless NIC/Buslink 1.1 80 GB Hard Drive.
