"USB Device Not Recognized" When nothing plugged into USB port

Hey guys,

I currently have an inspiron 600m which is approximately 2 weeks old.  Just yesterday, a windows message keeps popping up in the task bar saying "USB Device Not Recognized ...."   The odd thing here is that i don't have anything plugged into the USB ports.  This message continues to pop up and make a beeping sound that is starting to get EXTREMEMLY annoying.

What in the world is wrong here?

The 600m I have is a Pentium M 1.6, with Bluetooth and Intel pro wireless 2200

Please help

Craig

I believe so! Because now my Bluetooth isn't even seen anymore!

Any idea on how to fix this?

Yes send it to the same place my system is right now...
The Dell portable repair center!

Did you buy it refurbished?
This systemboard problem was supposed to be fixed in Jul 04

I got my system on Feb 04...

No I never bought it refurbished.  I purchased the system in September, 2004.  No more then 2 - 3 weeks after i bougth it this started happening.

What is wrong with dell?

And I can't afford to send it to a repair centre because i am a student and i need this computer to get my work done.  I don't know what i'm going to do.

It's funny because in total i have purchased 6 Dell Systems, and  the one time i don't purchase the in home service, this happens.

Interesting

System returned with different systemboard + bluetooth module and working for now...
Lets see how long this one lasts for?

Apparently this has been resolved on the D600 so why can't it be fixed on the 600m??? :smileysad:

I think Dell got a bad batch of these. I have 2 D600's and the Bluetooth is F.U.B.A.R. on both of them.

That message pops up on one every 2 seconds and the other one plain doesn't work. Very annoying when you went to the trouble and expense of buy a BT mouse and keyboard and connect to the internet with your phone that way also!
