USB device not recognized
I have a Dell Latitude D600. I keep getting the message "USB device not recognized" popping up every 3 seconds from my task bar, even though nothing is attached to my USB port, infact the two on the rear of my computer work fine. What is wrong and how to I get it to shut up (other than pressing mute)? Thanks!

In the meantime, I've reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled Windows XP Pro, thinking it was a MS software problem.... I got the same old message the first time I rebooted.

FYI: The way we finally determined what the problem was, was by going into the Dell configuration menu at startup (repeatedly hit the F2 key during system start (Dell logo on screen)). On page 3 of 7, the Bluetooth device read "Not installed." Also, after you're in Windows, look under Device Manger: USB controller, there should be a "Dell TrueMobile Bluetooth Module." If it is not there, and it should be, then you have found you problem.
When you call tech support, you may need to tell them all of this and refer them to this page, as very few of them seem to be aware of this problem and its solution.
Hope this helps. I consider this thread now closed. Thanks to everyone who helped solve this issue.
