To expand on the above posts, you need to supply much more detailed information to get a definitive answer to your question. People who read these forums regularly have a tremendous amount of experience and information, and are happy to share it, but need to know your exact computer model and the configuration of your existing video card.
If you supply this information, I'm sure you will get good advice here, as many people have.
I want to take the opportunity to thank you, johnallg, not rich yet and all the other people who help others (like me) out of their Dell problems or advice them.
You have helped more than once or twice and I think a lot of people know what you are doing and appreciate it. Often delltalkers come up with more helpful knowledge than dell technicians.
It would be time for DELL to wake up and give a prize for the continued support of their products by dedicated delltalkers.
I live in Japan and have the following setup that I got offa Dell's Japanese site:
2Ghz P4-M 15.4 WUXGA screen 256MB RAM 40MB Hitachi HD Broadcom 10/100 network adapter ATI Mobility 9000 32MB video DVD/CD-RW/R combo drive USB 2.0 x2 Firewire 1 PCMCIA slot No Wi-Fi (I've got 8M ADSL, so don't really need it) Japanese WindowsXP Home Ed.
This thing friggin rocks, but I think I kinda flubbed on the video. From what I can tell, I REALLY shoulda gone w/ the 64MB instead of the 32MB. Is there any way that I might be able to upgrade in the future (once I crawl outta debt from paying this beast off)? Also, I know that it's not really in the thread, but can somebody suggest which type of RAM I need to upgrade? I know that it takes SO-DIMM PC2100, but there seems to be about 3 versions of each size.

Hi ya guys,
I live in Japan and have the following setup that I got offa Dell's Japanese site:
2Ghz P4-M
15.4 WUXGA screen
256MB RAM
40MB Hitachi HD
Broadcom 10/100 network adapter
ATI Mobility 9000 32MB video
DVD/CD-RW/R combo drive
USB 2.0 x2
Firewire
1 PCMCIA slot
No Wi-Fi (I've got 8M ADSL, so don't really need it)
Japanese WindowsXP Home Ed.
