Video is off center

Question

I have tried reinstalling the drivers and swapped lcd panels. The image is off center by roughly 2 inches to the right and down. I can get it full screen but the screen extends beyond the limit of the screen. The windows load screen is off center as well. The Status bar is almost in the bottom right conner of the screen. When hooked up to an external monitor it works fine. This is what I see on the screen.

If the image on an external monitor is fine, your LCD panel and/or its connections to the rest of the computer are faulty and need to be replaced.

External Video is fine. I am going to try the cable first and go from there. LCD panel on a different laptop was fine. Tried a different adpater and it did not pull up at all. I am going to try the other adapter this weekend and see what happens. Message Edited by rbwhitley on 10-17-2008 03:52 PM

Video card from a 5150 did not work. booted up but lcd and external showed nothing.
