Vista Reinstallation... Error Code 0x8007045D

hi, here's mike ^^

so there's my problem..

i deleted all my partitions (with the dell media direct 3.5 DVD) and then i tried to install vista but theres the error:

Windows cannot find all "things", make sure that everything is there and restart the installation.

Error Code 0x8007045D

so, i told my problem a German Forum (my language :>) and the told me to take out 1 RAM cose Vista only can "make" 2 GB RAM, so i did that.. but it wont work..

so there ar 2 questions left:

1. som1 got the same problem or even know how to solve it?

2. whats about my garantie? (maybe wrong english word ;´[ )

-> did i lost my garantie with taking out RAM?

i know that arent rly much informations.. but i wrote a ~500 Words text for german ppl so i dont want to do it again :D, so, if som1 could help me and need more informations, ask me =)

Informations about the System:

xps m1530

dual core 2,5 ghz

windows vista home premium 32 BIT SP1 (on the DVD too)

ask me if there is something missing pls

greetings MikE

=) thx for helping

PS: On the German Forum the said to me, that i deleted the RECOVERY partition and so i have to get an Original DVD and put my Key, which sticks on the backside of my notebook, in. They said, it will work then, som1 know, if it's correct?

Welcome to the Forum :smileyhappy:

Your warranty isn't voided but I suggest reinstalling the ram.

I would run a diagnostic on the hard drive - boot from the Drivers & Utilities disk.

If there's no issues reported, ensure there's no dirt or damage on your OS disk, and reboot from it.

Ensure you designate (CREATE) a partition - don't let the screen slide by with an ENTER.

If you manage to install, ensure your BIOS is current.

This procedure will leave you without MediaDirect - if it's important to you - you'll have to boot from the MediaDirect disk and create partitions that way.

Good Luck

so...

english is not my main language but i think, i understood...

but, if theres the error, that there arent all datas, i think its a problem with the recovery.. cause i heard, that vista saves some datas from first installation or something... and i deleted both partitions, recovery and OS, so maybe i cant install VISTA with the non original DVD, cose there ar some datas missing... i will borrow the DVD from a friend tomorrow, and if it won't work, i'll come back, and i hope we will solve the prob.

but, it wouldnt be bad, if i boot from drivers&utilities and check everything, i'll do that now, thx for answer

greetings Mike

Since you've deleted the 'Recovery' partition, you can no longer use the OS (Vista) DVD to do a 'recovery' install, but you should still be able to use the OS disc to do a 'fresh' install (I've done it myself)?

If you're getting an error when you boot from the OS disc, then it could mean the disc is faulty, and might need replacing?

i just can say LOL

first time it worked, i ve installed vista correctly and it worked, but then i think, i had to reinstall it again cose i loaded some damaged datas on the HDD and i thought it would be the best to reinstall it

i deleted everything with dell media direct 3,5 dvd and made 2 partitions..

and now WHILE windows is installing (expanding datas/installing datas...) theres a mistake and it stopps installing... there ar no probs with booting from disc or something else...

and i thought we need some datas from recovery, so we can install vista, but i cant do anything o_O
