Volume buttons not working on 600m, hardware/configuration problem

After I did a clean install of WinXP pro, intalled drivers and ran diagnostics

Real problem: Only the "Volume Up" and "Mute" buttons not working

I ran diagnostics and the error code it gave me was 2C00:021C

I ran the Keyboard Secuence Test in the diagnostics and every key was answering, only those two didn't respond, and it returned me the error code

I already browsed 15+ pages of this topic and haven't found an answer, just "Re-install the audio drivers" (Already did, sound is working perfectly) and something about Dell Direct Access but this utility for my system doesn't exist

I'll apreciate all answers and help

The 600m uses Dell Quickset instead of Access Direct. Quickset's main function is to start the power management wizard; however, right clicking the icon lets you enable or disable the Fn keys for volume and screen brightness. The icon looks like a blue Q with 2 yellow arrows attached to it like a tiger's tail.

You can get it from Downloads.

Quickset only show the volume bar when you press this buttons. The actual volume level is set down or up pressing the button regardless if you have Quickset open.

Like I specified in the first post: the system is not recieving the signal of the buttons pressed. I ran the diagnostics (F12 at boot) and ran a test of key secuence which shows you which button your pressing along with the key code. I press the volume buttons and mute and nothing comes up. The weird thing here is that the VOL DOWN key *does* work, but the VOL UP and MUTE buttons don't

Use the 'Jump to a message board' dropdown box and go to the Inspiron keyboard board if you are having a problem with the keys not working.
