Vostro 1510 T5670 Core Duo 2 Processor
Hi
I am trying to find out if Intel VT is enabled or available on this machine. Or if there is a BIOS upgrade to make this available.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi
Yes it is a capability of the CPU, but there is usually a BIOS option to enable/disable it. This is missing in the Vostro 1510 BIOS so the question is, is it enabled or disabled?
Cheers

It is in my Bios on the Vostro 1500.
You can check if it is active by downloading and installing the CPU ID Utility from Intel website.

I am being told by Dell Tech Support that this feature is not enabled in the BIOS of the 1510 and that they will raise it to the engineering team to see if this can be added as a BIOS update. It is not enough for just the processor to support VT the chipset has to support it and for it to be enabled / disabled as required.

Hi
The Intel CPU ID tells me my cpu supports VT. I knew that it does already.
Are you saying that if it was NOT enabled it would NOT say this?
Thanks

Thanks Skev
I was a little dumbfounded to find this ability not available in my new laptop. I rely on virtualization on just assumed any new laptop would support it.
I will watch the BIOS updates.
