Vostro 1510 Webcam nonfunctional

I have the Dell Vostro 1510 and I had a horrible virus and had to wipe my computer. I went ahead and upgraded to Windows 7 and I'm having issues with my webcam. At first, I couldn't access my webcam center at all, saying I had no webcam installed. I went and downloaded the drivers for my system and it does open the webcam console. The blue light turns on, showing my webcam is on, but I only see a black screen in the capture area. Any idea on what should be done from here? -- I do not have the original Dell CD either, I've read a little about re-installing from the disk.

Hi MHodge,

Please uninstall the webcam drivers from program and features and device manager, follow the steps below.

Start > in search box type in device manager > under the imaging device > select webcam driver and right click on it and uninstall and check the box (delete the software for this device).

Start > in search box type in programs and features > select the webcam driver> right click on it > click on uninstall, restart your computer and reinstall the webcam central software using the link below.

Please let me know if this helps.
