WI-FI

Good Day.
I have an Inspiron notebook 5100.  Is it possible to modify or purchase a plug in for the WI-FI capability.  It has a DVD player, no 3 1/2 drive.

thank you

Yes I believe that model has space for a mini PCI card which can accommodate a wireless card.
if you do not want to meddle with the internals then you can buy yourself a PCMCIA wireless card which simply slides into the the PCMCIA slot at the side of the laptop.

Thank You.
Is the Dell card the best way to go, or will any of them work (internal card).

I suggest you stick with the Dell internal mini PCI cards.

I agree with Bacillus - the Dell 1350 card does a good job in my 5150 and in fact beats the performance of the Intel wirless card in my IBM R51
