Wide displays....

Hi all,

Could someone tell me about how wide displays (for instance WUXGA) display non-wide content?

Do you get the same issues as with widescreen TVs?

If you're playing a game, does the display squish the aspect ratio to fill the screen, or leave black bars at the sides, or does the game display a correct view with more pixels at the sides?

I imagine that with most apps and content, you just see a wider view, at the correct aspect ratio, but with how do FPS games and flight sims etc deal with the extra pixels?

I've not seen one yet.....

It depends on what option you set it to. There is an option in the video card settings (ATI or Nvidia) to display lower resolutions either in fullscreen or as is (black borders)
