will this driver work? (ati x300)

Well I have an Inspiron 6000 with ati x300 64 Mb and hypermemmory.
I want to update the driver I goot with my dell since the ati driver is more then 7 months old.
Since I cant download the latest ati driver to my dell from ati's homepage, since ati drivers are not compatible with dell computers.
I was woundering if this driver that I found while searching dell's driver resources will do the trick, it is 1 week old, but it is for dimension 5100.
here is a link:

Could anyone answer if it will work or not

You can use the ATI catalyst driver off the ATI website and use the modding tool which I have blinked below in order to install the drivers.

alternatively you can search for the Omega drivers.

Probably there isn't even any need for a different, fresher driver. Or why, specifically? (7 month old cannot be a valid reason).

We have taken one of the ATI Catalyst drivers when we needed it for Windows98-on-Inspiron-6000. Adjustment of the INF file was needed but required understanding of the driver installation mechanics.
