XPS 12 WiDi Problem
I just purchased a Dell XPS 12 laptop running Windows 8 Pro, along with a Netgear Push2TV PTV3000 WiDi adapter. I have not been able to successfully connect to the adapter. Here is what I have done so far:
1) Updated to latest Intel PROSet/Wireless WFi Connection Utility, version 15.5.7.0 via Intel's driver update utility
2) Updated firmware on PTV3000 to 2.2.9
3) Updated to Intel Wireless Display Software version 3.5.41.0 via Intel's site, manual download
Once I completed those steps, I was able to at least detect the adapter. However, I am still unable to connect to it. What can I do to resolve this issue?

MTransue,
Intel drivers 14.3 or earlier use Intel My WiFi Technology. The later versions, you need to download Intel® My WiFi Dashboard
Did you check with Netgear? I saw a post, but it was removed that stated that Netgear did not have Windows 8 drivers for the Netgear Push2TV PTV3000 WiDi adapter

I spent some time researching on Netgear's site, as well as on Google. I found mixed results in regards to compatibility. I just started a download of driver version 15.6 for Intel PROSet, and saw that Dell's driver is relatively far behind the latest ones Intel has for my graphics. Not certain as to whether or not I should install generic drivers though.

MTransue,
Contact Netgear and see what they say. If I'm correct, there wasn't drivers for this on january 10th, unless Netgear got them available now.

Contacted Netgear, and supposedly the WiDi connection issue should have been solved when I updated the firmware on the Push2TV adapter. Definitely has not been the case for me, though. They now say it must be an issue on Dell's end, and to await a fix from them.

MTransue,
Does your system meet the requirements for Intel® Wireless Display? I was thinking you might need Intel® My WiFi Technology to also meet the requirements.
Can you run Finding System Information REMOVE YOUR PRODUCT ID and REGISTERED OWNER and post the information back here.

MTransue,
The Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6235 meets the requirements.
What do you have installed?
Installing My Wi-Fi Technology Must use Intel drivers 14.3 or earlier. New program is called Intel® My WiFi Dashboard?
I was almost certain that Intel My WiFi was needed to use MyDi.
Since My WiFi and MyDi are an Intel product, you may get a better answer from Wireless: Intel Communities They have people from Intel monitor the forums during the daytime hours.

I have exactly the same problem, I spend three days with the Netgear tech support and nothing at all, wont work.
I called many times to the dell tech support, even they send me a technician to "replace the screen", ridiculous, when the problem is the widi.
I paid $1200.- and the laptop has a lot of issues (among the windows 8).
If I don't have a solution, I want to return the laptop to Dell, because this laptop is a real LEMON.

I also have an XPS12 and I just bought the Netgear Push2tv PTV3000 and managed to get it working.
At first widi kept closing down everytime I tried to scan for the push2tv adapter. I then updated the adapter as per the onscreen instructions that popped up on my tv but widi still kept closing down so I uninstalled widi and reinstalled a newer version from the intel website and tried again, on the first try it still couldn't see my adapter but I turned both the TV and laptop off and restarted them and widi on my laptop detected the push2tv adapter right away, I clicked to connect which was successful but found that in mirror or duplicate mode (where your tv mirros whatever is on your laptop screen) the resolution was too low to play movies from the netflix app (though it does work if you log on to netflix from your web browser rather than the netflix app but the resolution is horrible!) so I then pressed FN + F1 to bring up screen options and changed the mode to extended desktop, I then dragged my web browser window onto my TV and after a little fiddling and resizing managed to click full screen mode and it worked perfectly in relatively good resolution.
The connection dropped however about 3 times during a 2.5 hour movie which was annoying but only took a couple of seconds to remedy by reconnecting from my laptop to the push2tv adapter and the film carried on from where it left off. Also I found I have slight problems sometimes when first connecting to the push2tv adapter it seems to bring up the old interface which doesn't detect my adapter but I just close it down and restart a few times and I get the newer interface (which is strange as I uninstalled the old one!)
Before I bought the push2tv adapter I bought the IWANTIT mini display port to HDMI adapter but no matter how hard I tried could just not get it to work with my laptop, I took it back to PC world and they got it to work with my laptop and one of their TV'S so it may just be a compatibility issue with my particular TV (panasonic plasma) however since I took it back I have been informed that the IWANTIT adapter has issues with windows and you can sometimes get it to work by plugging it in to your laptop BEFORE you switch the laptop on - I cant verify this as I've taken it back and exchanged it for the push2tv but just thought i'd relay that info incase anyone has it and is having problems with it.
Oh and btw its £10 cheaper in Maplins than PC World but if you tell PCWorld they match the £10 price difference and give you a further 10% off because you found it cheaper elsewhere! so I got mine for £52.99 rather than the £69.99 PCWorld are selling it for!
