XPS 13 2in1 (9365) - random pointer movement
I have a new XPS 13 2in1 (9365) and everything works great except the cursor randomly bounces across the screen. I've updated every driver as well as the bios to no avail. You can watch the movement at the video link below.
I assume this is simply a driver issue since the touchpad works fine whenever I'm just messing around in the bios.
BUT there's no Dell touchpad driver available. Under the Device Manager, under "Mice and other pointing devices" - there are three listings all with Microsoft drivers:
HID-compliant mouse
HID-compliant mouse
PS/2 Compatible mouse
Any suggestions?

Please power off system. Remove all peripherals and AC adapter from system, and then wait about 5 minutes. Replace AC adapter and then power on system. Hopefully cursor is fix now.
If the cursor still move erratically, check for the latest windows updates are installed on the system. Type Settings onto [Cortana] search box, Update And Security, and then select Check For Update. Install any available updates and restart your system if required. Please don't wait later to install, click on Restart Now. Do the process over and over until you have all the latest windows on the system. Also, check Update History for any failed updates.

The Touchpad is under the Human Interface Devices. But no driver is installed which appears to be normal.
The video appears a system which is getting multiple inputs. Does the Touchscreen work normally?
Windows 10 has an option to turn off the touchpad if you are using a mouse so you might check that.
Some setting on the Settings-Devices-Touchpad may effect the operation.
Do you use an active Pen?
Is the Touchpad still recessed about 1/32nd of an inch?

I applied all the updates - Windows, Dell, the bios. The problem still occured. I disabled the touchscreen. The problem was still there. I re-enabled the touchscreen and disabled the trackpad. Problem went away. Re-enabled the trackpad. Problem came back. I was pretty sure it was a driver problem and not a mechanical issue because the problem didn't exist when I was in the bios - only in Windows.
Then I tried something off the wall. I connected a Kensington Expert Mouse Wireless Trackball via bluetooth and installed the appropriate software. Things seemed to work ok. Then turned off the trackball and went back to using the trackpad. Things still seem ok. I've only been using it a few hours. There's only been a couple questionable incidents of the cursor seeming to move on its own, but that could have been me not realizing that I had bumped the trackpad. So I'll keep testing and see if it's solved.

Glad to know you figured out the problem yourself. Thanks for the update.
