XPS 1330 Drivers

Question

Hi,

Im sure Im not alone in this but I bought my XPS 1330 with Vista because Dell would not sell to me with XP Professional

I have my own copy of XP Pro and I successfully installed it.

Of course I now have several issues with my drivers and devices. I have no sound and also my video drivers are not

correct.

Several "Other Devices" with ? beside it are

Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus.

Video Controller

Video Controller (VGA Compatible)

One such question mark is at : IDT High Definition Audio CODEK

Can Anybody assist ?

Since you 'downgraded' to a lesser OS, you will now need  to follow THIS PROCEDURE on how to reload your drivers. Now lets break it down a bit. Notebook system software. This is Dell specific so since the only version is Vista only you will not be able to use that Chipset. Use the Both of the drivers listed on the download page for VISTA. When you check the compatability for both drivers you will find that they are both XP compatable.Install the intel driver first. Network. Use the broadcom driver for the same reason as above. Wireless you will need to know what adapter  you have and find the XP driver if one exist on the web or if a Dell card some are on the Dell site you just need to seach for them. They may even be listed under another system but will work on yours as long as they are XP The same will go for your vidoe and sound drivers. First Check the Dell site to see if the listed driver is compatable with XP or not. Else try going to the vendors web site and see if they have XP drivers. IF you are having problems let us know what exact model is in your system and we will attempt to help you locate them if they exist.

Links to the various threads the XPS laptop drivers are posted in on those forums, were subsequently posted in various threads on the old Dell forums as well... but (to my knowledge) those have all been lost since the switch to these new forums, unfortunately :emotion-6:
