XPS 15 L502X Nvidia GPU issue
Hi,
I've got the system above and recently I've been experiencing multiple crashes that range from a 15 second freeze, to a BSOD, or a computer shutdown, and it's everytime when any app is stressing my computer's GPU, be it either by runing video games or GPU intensive applications like Maya or 3dsmax, and even in benchmarks I experience these crashes.
What I'm really confused about is that if I run these specific apps with my integrated intel HD 3000 GPU, and not the discrete Nvidia GT 540M chip I won't get these problems and everything runs fine. Slow, but fine.
I really could use some help with this issue.
I'm running windows 7 SP1 and Nvidia driver version 306.97. Please note that after I begun having these problems I restored the computer's software to Dell factory defaults and the problem would still persist. Even with various Nvidia drivers the problems continues.
I'm really out of options...

Hi evolvtyon,
I would suggest you to run the online Dell PC diagnostics on your system from the link below and let me know the error codes.
1. Open the link http://dell.to/14YjKb2
2. Select ‘Blue Screen Analyzer’ under Software.
3. Click on ‘Run Diagnostics’ button.
4. Let me know the results.
The Blue Screen Analyzer identifies errors in system files that can trigger a blue screen at startup. Based upon the results of this analysis, you may choose to run a troubleshooter to fix these errors. The first time you run this diagnostic, it will take about 10 minute.
Also, I’d suggest you to run the diagnostics on the computer by following the steps mentioned below and check if there is any issue with the hardware on your system.

Hello Ravi CH,
Thank you for the answer. I did as you instructed and no errors were reported by either tests. I'm including the snip from the BSOD analyser.
I did however took the liberty from choosing the Diagnostic "Gaming Performace" under symptom, and while the tests with the integrated intel GPU all passed, when the tests with the nvidia chip began, the computer immediatly froze. (I'm including the snips from the frozen state). I had to hard reset the computer again... are there any live logs being recorded during the tests?
What's the next step?

Hello Ravi Ch,
I did as you instructed, and the computer crashed once again while running the Nvidia chip tests. Although the fan was running from the begining I did noticed that only when the pc crashed did the fan rpm, in my opinion, maxed out.
It continued at high speed until I hard reseted the pc. I'm adding another snip of the moment the pc crashed.

My xps, ... It freezes suddenly while playing games.
Interestingly I had played these games previuosly without any issues. Suddenly this issue of freeze and buzz sound comes up.
Please suggest something!!
