XPS 17 Touchpad; Bought new, self installed, multiple problems.
So I had the brilliance to dump salsa on my XPS 17 L702X. I'll start with that. So I replaced the entire keyboard, touchpad, power button, and front plate entirely. The laptop works. However, the touchpad, when enabled, can sometimes be seen jittering on the screen, over a horizontal area of about 5 pixels. When it does this, I cannot use any means I know of to move it vertically. In addition, the touchpad seems to sense my finger without any contact with the touchpad. I hover my finger and it still senses which way to go. (Horizontal only)
When it has this situation, I notice the Synaptics icon in my quicklaunch showing a green circle, as if it thinks my finger is on the touchpad.
Sometimes, I'm able to fix it temporarily by pushing the Left Click Button. The green circle goes away, the mouse works fine, everything is fine. Until 20 seconds later, when I take my finger off again in some way it doesn't like. Then I see the jitter, and I try to fix it by mashing the Left Click.
I hope I gave enough detail to be useful, I don't know where to look anymore. I've tried plugging in the ribbon from the touchpad again with no luck, and google hasn't given me any hope. It didn't have this problem until I added the new front plate assembly.

Hi 1cec0ld ,
I would suggest you to uninstall the touchpad driver from Device Manager and Control Panel. Once the driver have been uninstalled, please update the Touchpad driver and BIOS from the following link: http://dell.to/UAt9Pz -> choose the appropriate Operating System.
Note: Before updating BIOS please ensure that:
* The battery is 10% or more than 10% charged.
* The AC adapter should be connected.
* No external devices (flash drives, printers, external hard drives) should be connected.
* All other programs should be closed and documents saved.
You can change the touchpad setting by going to Control panel -> Double click Dell Touchpad -> Pointing -> Sensitivity -> Touchcheck, move the slider to minimum. You may refer to the screenshot. The option might vary.
