XPS 1730 screen damage, Dell failure
Hi,
I ordered an XPS 1730 a couple of weeks ago, and when it arrived, there was a piece of dust behind the LCD screen. I phoned up customer support immediately, and arranged for it to be picked up and repaired/replaced (however it works). I was told I'd get it back in 7 days' time.
The laptop was not picked up. I rang again, and arranged for a second pickup.
The laptop was once again not picked up.
What on earth do I do now, to ensure I receive the laptop for which I paid, undamaged?

In these situations you basically have two options:
Return the system if within 21 days of purchase and order a new one, or contact technical support and get a service all (typically onsite 2-3 business days turn around) unless you have a repair depot contract only then you can expect to recieve the box in 1-2 days and once you ship its returned in about 5 they say.
they are there just got to find the right people.
Good luck

uBefore we start let me say that I am NOT a disgruntled DELL customer. I did return an XPS M1730 because of graphics issues but that's NVIDIA's fault and not DELL. In fact, DELL gets excellent marks for refunding my credit line at no cost whatsoever to me and doing so in a prompt manner. However, I tell some gamers @ work about my return and, once they're done convincing me how much better gaming is on a desktop, they steer me towards checking out some custom pc builders online. WOW! For the $3150.00 I spent on my XPS M1730, I wound up with a wicked sick desktop at 2/3 the price. I spent $2050.00 and have better specs than the XPS 630 I was looking at on DELLS' site. Some of the specs DELL doesn't even have and the ones they do have they rob you blind for. So before you drop some serious jack on a laptop that you can't upgrade and will be outdated by Christmas, do yourself a favor and get a desktop from a reputable custom builder and you will do much better. I wish someone would have smartened me up before I made my purchase, so here I am. And there you are.
Good Luck,
