XPS M140 Notebook Power Supply Usage

I just bought a new PA-10 adapter on eBay and the listing said it was compatible with the M140.  Well like an idiot I didn't look on mine to see that it said PA-12.

So my question is, will the PA-10 work with the M140 with no problems?  The only difference I can see is the wattage.  The PA-12 is a 65 watt and the new PA-10 is a 90 watt.  Output voltage is exactly the same and the connector looks to be the same.

It was brand new in the package and with shipping was less than $9 so I thought I would take a chance with it but I don't want to trash my computer.  I haven't complained to the seller yet and wasn't going to until I had done my due diligence and checked the forums.

Thanks.

If the voltage is the same, it will just charge your laptop faster. If the voltage is lower or higher, it will burn out the charging circuit in the laptop.

It is the same voltage.  Just a higher wattage which of course results in a higer amperage (watts = volts x amps).

Gee it seems that I did learn something in my circuit analysis class in college years ago!
