XPS M1710 problem

I have had my XPS M1710 for a few months now. The first one I got was defective and only turned on when it was plugged into the wall. After it turned on you could then unplug it and run it off the battery for several hours. Dell replaced that one and the new one has been running great until my new discovery. When ever I play any of my games like (FEAR, PREY, HL2, Oblivion) the screen gets all jumbled and flickers. It gets resolved by plugging in the AC adapter. So the only time it flickers is when I try to run games off the battery. Anyone else have this issue? Is it a defective battery? It's like it doesn't have enough juice to run graphically intense games.

I am not sure if this will workm, but it is worth a try. There is something called Dell Quickset utility. In this screen, go into power management and set it to maximum battery. possibly might fix it. What I think is that the system is automatically switching its power output to lower level when only on battery to give you a longer battery life i think..So try it.. might work:smileyhappy:
